POLICIES & PROTOCOLS

Soccer Legion FC is dedicated to the health & safety of our players and to creating and outstanding developmental experience for our participants. In order for our players to get the most out of soccer camp, we need your help.

Knowing that no two campers are exactly alike, we ask that you help us get to know your camper. We encourage you to share with us your ideas, thoughts and any concerns that may help us create an environment that is best suited for your camper by clicking here.

About our staff

Unlike many other organization, our coaches are professional and work as coaches all year round. All of our staff are licensed by US Soccer Federation and or Certified with the United Soccer Coaches. Our coaching team has been meeting the needs of players of all background and ability for years.

Safety measures

Our camp operations will meet or exceed the required standards set forth by local and national experts to ensure a safe experience, including:

  • Players must bring food for the day (NUT FREE), including snacks and a non-perishable lunch, stored in their own bag (lunches are not refrigerated).

  • Players should also bring water in a refillable water bottle (Cooler available)

  • Parents should apply sunscreen before campers arrive at camp in the morning, as staff will no longer be able to apply sunscreen to campers upon request. Additional sunscreen will be made available throughout the day, but campers will need to apply their own sunscreen.

  • Low staff-to-camper ratios based on the age range of campers:

    • 6:1

  • Camp groups will retain the same assigned staff all week.

  • Staff are first aid and CPR certified by the American Red Cross.

WHAT TO PREPARE FOR

Drop off, Pick up & Sign off.

Only adults who are authorized in writing by the parent will be allowed to pick up your camper. All adults picking up child from camp are required to identify themselves with a photo ID. In order to ensure the safety of your child, it is mandatory that each camper be signed in and out daily with a legal signature and time by an authorized adult (18 years or older). A government-issued ID is required to be shown daily for camper sign out.

Clothing

Campers are required to wear closed-toe sneakers and socks daily. Belongings are the responsibility of the camper. A backpack is helpful in keeping your camper’s belongings in a safe place. Should your child need to take medication during soccer camp, we will administer it as directed. The following items are essential for us to dispense any medication:

  • The medication will need to be checked in with a camp site director. Please do not leave the medication with your child, including over the counter medication, epi-pens, inhalers, creams, eye drops, etc.

  • Medication must be in its original container with labeled prescription instructions

Illness & Injury.

If we are unable to reach you in the event your camper needs medical care, he/she will be transported to the hospital.

Extreme weather

Our camps are designed to operate outside each day. In the event of extreme weather, we will do what is best to keep campers safe, by utilizing shaded areas. This may affect their regularly scheduled activities. If conditions are unsafe, we will cancel camp and issue a credit to all participants.

Camp rules

Be honest, be caring, be responsible and be respectful. Treat others like you would like to be treated. Listen to your coaches and follow the rules. Do your best when participating and show respect to your fellow campers and staff.

Approach to discipline

We believe in Guidance focused approach where we focus on the expected, appropriate behavior, rather than on the negative, inappropriate behavior. We use positive reinforcement and set clear standard and guidelines for players to follow. Verbal abuse or name calling is not permitted and corporal punishment is never allowed. Behavioral concerns of individual player are not discussed with other parents.
